Full Backing Band in Edmonton!
Is it too late to wish you all a happy new year?
I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying the lovely weather! The cynic and experienced Canadian in me is waiting for the other shoe to drop! I'm always leery of mild winter weather in January as I know very well we'll get it later in the season... Here's to hoping!
I've been very happy to be given the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my family and my old friends in the Edmonton area over the past few months as I flit here and there to tour. During my down time, I'm spending more intimate time with double bass again, which still hurts my hand when I bow, but I hope to pick up a few lessons with the amazing Thom Golub before I leave for BC in February.
Spending more time in Edmonton has also permitted me to pick up a few additional players for a backing band, which is always very exciting! In November, fiddling wonder Scott Zubot was a last-minute addition to my packed Black Dog show and wowed everyone with his talent - especially me!
When I first started talking with my string bass player Tom Murray about playing with me, I always had Erin Zier in mind for drums. My time here has been so busy, as was Erin, and the timing was never right. I'm so excited to tell you that she is now playing with us!
That being said, I'd like to invite you to my first Edmonton show backed by a full band on Friday, January 29 at the Blue Chair Café. Regardless of the weather outside, we will be sure to melt the ice cubes in your drinks!
Reservations are recommended: (780) 989-2861
Looking forward to seeing you there!
